SE Twin Cities – Rochester – La Crosse 345-kV Transmission Line Project Narrowed Corridors

Since filing a Certificate of Need application with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MN PUC) in August 2007, the individual CapX 2020 project teams have been meeting with landowners, local and state officials, community leaders, agencies, environmental and other interested parties to collect input for the development of route options that will be included in a Minnesota Route Permit. The SE Twin Cities – Rochester – La Crosse project team is moving toward filing a Minnesota Route Permit in early 2009. Similar review, permit and approval processes are required by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. The state regulatory agencies will make the final determination on routes. Project review and approval processes are also required by the Rural Utilities Service and other state agencies.
