CapX2020 statement on Phase I of DRG Study
The CapX2020 utilities
welcome the release of Phase I of the DRG study –
a comprehensive review of dispersed generation opportunities
that involved a group of more than 30 engineers and
technical experts representing regulatory agencies,
utilities, the wind industry and other related organizations.
The CapX2020 utilities view dispersed renewable generation
as an important component in meeting Minnesota’s
25 percent by 2025 renewable energy standard (RES).
With an estimated 5,000 MW of renewable energy needed
by 2025 to meet the Minnesota RES, the CapX2020 utilities
anticipate this additional source of clean renewable
energy.
